The Radiodetection Genny4 signal transmitter ads two additional modes of cable detection. Active frequency (33 Hz), when the transmitter is connected to a cable. The signal transmitter can also be switched to broadcast signal directly to ground (passive mode). In this mode, all underground cables and metallic non-ferrous object pick up the signal then re-emit it toward the surface. CAT4 locator finds underground utilities, when you scan an area in proximity to the signal transmitter. The broadcast mode is most popular was of searching for cables and non-ferrous metallic objects, before you dig. Construction companies use that more frequently. It does not pin-point to a cable location, but finds cables before excavation. Radiodetection CAT4 Plus is the best cable locator in its class. The CAT4 Plus Cable Locator requires a purchase of GENNY4 Transmitter for proper operation and location of cables, when utilizing all locating modes.
